The program emphasizes broad knowledge acquisition and ability development, with a strong foundation supported by the philosophy of general education. This "deep" integration, facilitated by a strong foundation in mathematics and science, is intended to develop talents who can lead and contribute to revolutionary changes in finance and other fields in the information age. The curriculum is streamlined, with an emphasis on fundamental knowledge and agile development, and general education.
The School of Economics and Management and the Department of Computer Science collaborate closely in this joint endeavor, paying special attention to dialogue between and integration of the different disciplines involved. The program fosters an interdisciplinary and broad learning experience that not only benefits the dual-degree students but also has a spillover effect for the undergraduate training in each of the departments, as well as promoting further integration of the disciplines.
The curriculum consists of general education courses, major core courses, practical training, and thesis training, which combines the strengths of humanities and social sciences with cutting-edge technology. The curriculum also places a high standard on basic courses in fundamental disciplines such as mathematics and physics. In the summer between freshman and junior years, students are expected to complete a training program, academic or corporate practicum and a professional internship to obtain the appropriate credits.
Learning Objectives
The Dual Degree Program in Computer Science and Finance develops students' unique abilities through various educational and teaching activities and cultivates a sound personality, humanistic spirit and general knowledge in humanities and social sciences to create qualified, high-level, diversified, and creative talents. Students will complete the program with an international perspective, passion for innovation, abilities to propose and solve challenging problems, and abilities to communicate and cooperate effectively in teams.
Students will master solid basic theories in the fields of computer science and technology and finance and other related fields, and have the ability to master and develop new theories, knowledge and technology, and to engage in scientific research, and technology development, or pursue careers in education and management of relevant fields.
Program Structure
The duration of this undergraduate program is four years, while also allowing a maximum of six years of study. Students will earn a Dual Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and in Economics
